Back!

Hello again, it's been a while since last time. Almost two months, and during this break I have to say that I have missed blogging recently so now I'm back.
I didn't really know what it would be like to have a blog but I think I maybe put to much pressure on myself to make a certain amount of post and I wanted them all to be beauty related. So now I have decided that I'm only going to blog when I feel like it, which I'm hoping will be a couple post a week, and if I don't have anything beauty related to write about them I'm going to write about something else. I'm not going to force myself to write about something just because that's in my blog name. I still mostly want to write a beauty blog, but sometimes there will be a post that's not about beauty and I think that will make my blog better for both me and you. No forced post, just post that I enjoy writing and you hopefully enjoy reading.

I really hope you had a great Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year!

Get Cozy!

T-shirts - TopShop / Socks - GinaTricot / PJ Bottoms - Bubbleroom / Leggings - Asos / PJ Onesie - TopShop / Slippers - H&M

A cup of tea with honey and a Harry Potter movie curled up in a blanket when the rain is pouring down outside.
That is how I like to spend autumn days, but one more thing I need to make it perfect is a really comfy outfit. A pyjamas is the most comfortable thing you can wear in my opinion. I always wear a pyjamas when I'm home doing nothing, at least the bottoms. I wear a normal tank top sometimes but on my legs I will wear pjs.
If you want maximum comfiness you can also wear socks like the Cosy Socks from Gina Tricot. Socks like that are perfect for a cold autumn or winter day!

How do you like to spend those rainy autumn days?

My Nails - Autumn Polishes #3

Any kind of slightly darker green goes well on your nails for autumn if you ask me, even though I'm not a big fan of the colour green. Dark/deep green colours reminds me of the woods and that reminds me of autumn.
A funny thing about that I chose this polish is that it came with a spring collection called Bloom in 2010. It's by Orly as you can see on the picture and the colour is called Wandering Vine.
I tried to find a good dupe for this one since it came with a collection almost four years ago so you can't buy it anymore and I have to say that it was much harder than I thought. The best dupe I found is Essie Going Incognito but I think that one has a bit more blue tones in it.

Garnier PureActive 3 in 1 - Review

I have been using this scrub for a few weeks now so I thought I would tell you what I think about it.
First thing first. This is a product that you can use both as a face wash, scrub and mask. It says on it that it's made for Oily skin with imperfections.
When you use it as a wash or scrub you simply just wet your face with water, massage the product all over your face excep for close to your eyes then wash it off with water and dry your face with a towel.
When you use it as a mask you apply it all over your face except for around your eyes. It says on the tube that you should leave it for three minutes but I usually leave it for for about 5-10 minutes because it doesn't have time do dry completly if I only have it on for three minutes. When it has dried you wash it off with water.
So now on to what I think about it. As a wash/scrub I think it feels nice on the skin when I use it and my skin feels really nice when I wash it of. I didn't really notice any differenc on my skin between this scrub and the one I used before which was the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit scrub which I also liked. My skin still looks nice and feels nice so I would say it's a pretty good scrub that cleans your skin and leaves it feeling fresh and nice. I use it to wash/scrub my face every night.
As a mask I'm quite impressed by it. I only use it as a mask if I have any spots since it's for oily skin and I would say my skin is normal right now so I don't want to use it as a mask too often. When I do have a few spots I use this mask once a week and leave it on for 5-10 minutes as I said before. The day after or two days after I can usually see a huge differenc on my spot. They are almost gone and scars and red spots I have from old blemishes don't look as prominent which is one thing that I love about this mask. I have a few red marks on my cheek from blemishes I had a couple months ago and they never seemed to fade, but the first time I used this product as a mask I could see that they weren't as red the day after I used the mask.

As a summary of my opinion on this product I would say that it's a good scrub and a brilliant mask if you have any spots. It's supposed to be for oily skin but my skin is pretty normal now and it still works great for my so I would say you probably can use it if you have normal, combination or oily skin. I don't know how it would work for someone with dry skin but I'm guessing this wouldn't be for you.
I definitely recommend this to anyone that have or sometimes gets spots or blemishes and are looking for a good affordable scrub or mask.

My Nails - Autumn Polishes #2

What is a more perfect colour for autumn than a classic red?

This one is from IsaDora and the colour is called '40 Supreme Red'. I bought it several years ago and they don't sell this colour anymore but you can find a classic red from pretty much any brand. The thing I especially like about this polish is that it's a slightly deeper red which I think is more flattering against my skintone and a bright red would be.

August and September Favourites

Here is a new video where I show what products I have been liking recently. I hope you like it!

New Perfect Rings

As I think I have said before, I love rings and have been looking for some simple plain ones for a long time and I think I have found the perfect ones.
They are form H&M and the plain ones was in a pack of six and the ones with a texture (that almost looks like glitter but not quite) came in a pack of eleven. They are so easy to just stock on and there are rings that fits for every finger for me. The plain ones are in different sizes, the textured ones are not but because they have different lenghts (if you understan what I mean, I can't find the right word) they fit both my index-, middle- and ring fingers.
Since they are fron H&M they had a good price. 40 swedish crowns for the plain and 50 for the textured.
As I said in the title and in the beginning of this text, they seem perfect!

My Nails - Autum polishes #1

I am now going to start a little series here among my nail posts where I show my top 5 favourite colours to have on my nails for autumn. Some of them you may not be able to get hold of anymore since I got them quite a while ago. (By that I mean a few years ago.) The point is not that these polishes are my favourite, just the colour. I'm going to try and find similar colours from other brands that you can get hold of though.

The first colour I really like for autumn is a dark purple. This one is from H&M and it's called "Meet me in the dark" which I think is a good name for it because it's really dark.Depending on the light it can almost look black sometimes, but it's not as hard against your skin as a black would be, if you're as pale as I am.
It looks nice and opaque with two coats but it's not the best quality, but I don't think that matters too much if you use a topcoat over it.
One polish I found that seems to be quite similar to this one is "Sole Mate" from Essie.

What colours do you like on your nails for autumn?

Everyday Makeup

Sorry for the lack of content here the last week/week and a half, but I have had a lot in school and I've been ill for the last few days.

I uploded a video on my youtube channel today where I show you my everyday makeup routine. It's nothing special really but I thought it might be fun to see since I myself really like these kinds of videos.

Mini Beauty Haul

I needed to stock up on a few beauty products recently so I thought I'd show them in a little haul.
The first thing I needed was a new moisturizer. I used the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit one before and I like it but I wanted to try something else and I'm happy I did because this is the best moisturizer I have tried. It is the Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturizing Day Care for normal to combination skin. I have only used it for about two weeks but I can already see a differenc in my skin. I just quite recently started to have one or two spots all the time, I never had any problems with breakouts when I was around 15 which I think seems to be when most people struggle with that. I don't really know if you can say that I have a problem with them since there only is one or two at a time but it's more that I have had before. Anyhow, since I started using this moisturizer I haven't had any and this is the only thing I have changed in my skin care so it has to be thanks to this. I would definetly recommend it to anyone with normal to combination skin!
The next thing I needed a new one of was foundation and it was an easy choise. I have heard so much good about it and I have used another foundation from Max Factor that I also loved so there was no doubt that it was the Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless I would go for. I have only used it for a couple days but so far I like it. It gives good coverage at the same time as it doesn't feel like I have anything on my face.
I also bought a new wash/scrub but I haven't started using it yet so I can't say what I think about it. It is the Garnier Pure Activ 3 in 1 and I mostly have heard good reviews about it so I'm hoping I will like it.
Then I just picked up a facemask on the way to the cash desk. It is a peel of mask which I like and it says that it freshen up the face but I'm not expecting anything magical from it.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what do you think about them?

Naked Basics

A little while ago I talked about different neutral eyeshadow palettes and now I have bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics. I'm glad I decided to go for this one. Even though it might look quite boring and like nothing special you can do a lot of different looks with this palette.
Here is a tutorial on a smokey eye using this palette and I will probably film an everyday makeup video soon where you will see a much more natural and subtle way of using this palette.

My Nails - Simple Monochrome

This is how my nails have looked the last week. A quite simple design but I really like it.
To get the sharp line between the white and black I first painted my nails white. Then I waited for a few hours to make sure it really had dried. It is really important that it's completly dry because now I took a piece of tape on half of my nail and painted the other half with a black polish. I needed two coats of it and then I removed the tape before it had dried and then I had a sharp line.
I know it's not perfect but it was the first time I tried doing something like this.
I used two different gold glitters on my ringfingers so make them really sparkly.

Autumn Outfit

The autumn is coming soon and I do not mind that at all. The autumn is my favourite season of the year when it comes to clothes. I much more prefer dark colours to bright and pastel colours. But doesn't has to mean that I only wear black or that my outfits are boring.
In this collage I have put together an outfit I gladly would wear any rainy autumn day (exept for the shoes and I forgot to add another pair of shoes but I would wear black converse with this outfit).
I don't know why but I got a thing for velvet, even tough I don't own any velvet clothes. I found these leggings and really like them. I think they look so cozy and confortable. I like to wear clothes that are nice and cozy/comfortable to wear but look stylish and I think these leggings seems to be a perfect example on that.
A cardigan is always a must for me, especially on the fall. I don't really like long sleeved jumper. I chose a simple white t-shirt so that the look wouldn't be too dark and then the jewelry are also quite simple but I like how you can match gold and silver together.

What do you think about this outfit? Is it something you would wear?

Phone case / wallet

I got a new phone on my birthday, Samsung galaxy S4 mini, and I wanted some kind of case for it. I went on ebay and started searching. I first looked at normal cases but then I decided that I rather wanted a wallet for it. Both because it protects the phone more and I like that I can have my phone, cash and cards at the same place and I don't need to bring my handbag if I don't feel like I need to. I found this one and loved it! The things I like so much about it is that it has an envelope style to it and the studds adds so much. I also like that it has place for three cards because most of the wallets I looked at only had two. The cards I want to bring with me are my ID, bankcard and bus card.
It's not quite as white on person as it looks on the pictures. It's more of a yellow toned off white but it's not something that matters at all.
I don't know if the make this wallet for other phones but if you have a Samsung galaxy S4 mini and are looking for a more fun wallet to it I would recommend this.

I'm not sure which seller I bought it from but here is one that sells it: Click.

School look

Here is a video tutorial of a look that I think is suitable for school and that doesn't take look long time to do. For me this takes about 20 minutes.

Hope you like it!

P.S. It was filmed before I dyed my hair.

2013-08-19

It's red!

I got bored of my brown hair so I decided to dye it red again and I LOVE it!
I have had red hair before so when I bought this dye I knew this was the one I wanted. Syoss Professional Performance in 5-29 Intense Red. I do think that this is the best red hair dye that you can buy in a drugstore or supermarket out there. My hair was medium/dark brown before I would say and look how red it is now! It does depend a little on the light how intense it looks. It's much  more red out in daylight than inside but nevertheless, it's red.
So that you can use it even on darker hair and it still makes it this red is one of the reasons to why I like this hair dye so much. The other reason is that it actually stays in your hair. I feel like with the other red dyes I have used, the intensity in the colour washes out after a couple or a few weeks but with this dye it's still pretty intense even 1-2 months after you used it. I think that's pretty damn awesome. ( Sorry for the swear word but I need it to explain how amazing this colour is.)

I also thought I tell you two tips on how to not get the dye on your skin in your forehead, ears and neck.
1, Apply some Vaseline on your skin in those areas where you usually get the dye. That way the dye will not touch your skin and you can just wipe it away after you're done applying the dye in your hair.
2, Use makeup remover or makeup wipes to wipe of the dye you may have gotten on your skin. If you have tried to wipe away hair dye with soap and water you probably have noticed that it doesn't work that good. But makeup remover really does work if you do it straight away when you're done applying the hair dye.

What do you think? What is your favourite hair dye?

New Pants + New Video

It was my 18 birthday last thursday so last week I was celebrating that with both friends and family so that's why it has been a bit empty here for a little more than a week. I just didn't have time to blog.

Yesterday I got these pant that I ordered from Missguided about two weeks ago. I have to say that I absolutely love this flower print! I got them on the sale for £ 16.09 which I think is really good. But.. I do think that this fabric isn't the best quality. Even though it's lightweight ( as it says in the description on them, here ) and has a little stretch in it I can see in the seams that the fabric isn't the best. That is a bit disappointing since I love the print so much but I'm going to keep them and hope that the stitches will hold. They are the right size for me, I even compared them with another pair of pants I have that are also high waisted and tight and they both are the same size.

The third and final thing I want to say in this post is that I uploaded a new video on youtube yesterday. The "13 questions tag".

July Favourites

I don't know if I will do favourites every month because I don't feel like I use that many new products that often so I wouldn't really have anything new to show. But this month I wanted to show some things I've been loving recently.
I might show a couple things I like here on my blog at the end of every month but only do a video every second month or something when I feel like I have enough products to make a good video. I don't know, we'll see what I do.
Anyhow, here is the video if you want to hear me talking about these products:

Two New Products

I was looking at the last things left in the sale and found this volume spray mousse from Urban by Björn Axén for half price. I wanted something that would help me get a messy look in my hair now that it's shorter ( I cut of about 10-15 cm off it last week). I was thinking about a salt water spray but then I saw this and decided to go for it instead since it says it gives volume which I really like.
Then a picked up a face mask too. I have heard good things about Formula 10.0.6 but never tried anything and this sounds like it would be good for my skin. They sell their masks in this 2x5g packaging and also in 100 ml tubes but I went for the small one so I can see how I like it and if it works good I might buy the big tube.

I will probably write what I think about both these product when I have tried them.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Green Smokey Makeup

I have been using the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette almost every time I have done my makeup since I bought it. I think it's a really good palette for both simple everyday looks, more dramatic smokey looks and everything between. That's why I wanted to film a tutorial using it. For me, this look would be more of a night time makeup on the spring/summer and a day look on the fall/winter.

What do you think?

My Nails - Light Green / Claudia nr. 107 Honeydew

I'm quite lazy with my nails on the summer. With that I mean that I hardly ever do any design, I still always have them painted. I almost feel naked if I don't have any colour on my nails. I guess that is because I'm so used to it, I'm not used to see them without nail polish and I don't like them without nail polish.
To make it a little more fun and make it look like I have tried I simply painted the rigfingers in a different colour than the rest. This time it was a white from E.L.F. with nr. 158 Sparkling Silver from Claudia over. On all the other finger I used another polish from Claudia in 107 Honeydew.
I actually like this green polish more than I thought I would. It's a perfect light green. I find that many light green colours are more towards mint green but this one isn't. I think that is what I like about it. I also think this will be a good base colour to do designs on since it's so light.
